Astura
The Yhtill Goddess, consort of Ba’alar, who hung for ages crucified in Caer Ceusa (“Carcosa”) as hostage while the “tongues of darkness” of nightmare creatures slowly drew out and fed upon Her life essence. The Calhoun coven rescued her, hoping in return for help bringing home the Thirteen lost in the Ravenwood Disaster.

Ba'alar
The King in Yellow
A powerful God long held captive in Carcosa by dark forces with his consort Astura as hostage. Star-spanning efforts to save Her bought Him a dark but undeserved reputation. Creator of the Gold Mist. Later a valuable ally to the Garret Gang, and departing this Universe left Carcosa and the Mist in their charge.

Hadrian Marsan
Formerly a physics major, later switched schools to work on a Master’s degree in philosophy. An amateur hypnotist; founded “Mindpower” ESP study groups at both schools. Convinced Suzanne to come live with him, treated her badly, then dumped her. One of the Ravenwood Thirteen.

Mel (Melusine)
Ghost Girl
Mountain Girl
Handmaiden to Morgaine in Rowan Tree Coven. Shot in 1848 by Christians from the valley below, cursed them as she died, and trapped by that same curse for over a century, was released by the Calhoun coven. Married Norma by Lakeside custom in Marsan’s World. Has no Earthly body, but can borrow and use Suzanne’s.

Nephthys
Taught high-school English in Willow Bend, Kansas. Rejected Christianity as a teen and entered the Craft a decade later, creating her own tradition from books and dreams. A former student of “Magus” Madden; moved in with him at Ravenwood after finishing her degree. A gifted ceramicist and a self-taught witch; her Working Tools were mostly ceramic too. One of the Ravenwood Thirteen. Priestess of HAGITH in Marsan’s World.

Ulphorach
The Guardian of Earth, one of the K’hubuldor, resembles a rough-hewn but animate stone statue standing waist-deep in the ground. Survivor from a world shattered in the Sundering War. Now a close friend of Melusine. “Ulphorach” is His title; his personal name sounds like a chorus of deep-toned bells.
